Huge wealth was created for investors on Dalal Street, as market capitalisation of the BSE-listed companies soared nearly 42 per cent to Rs 151 lakh crore as of December 28, 2017 from Rs 106.23 lakh crore in December last year.

At the same time, a number of stocks suffered major losses, eroding a large amount of investor wealth in the process. Share prices of as many as 25 companies tanked over 50 per cent over the past 12 months.
